I'd argue there are plenty of "nevers" in building software, depending on your goals. I don't think my title is an overstatement. I think I make my case in the article. If you disagree, that's fine.

As for "clickbait", it would only be clickbait if I didn't deliver what the title promises - and I think I did.

The scenarios mentioned in the comments (all of them) have accessibility issues. Some greater than others. If you're after compliance more than accessibility, keep disabling your buttons.
