I'm not advocating for it because I believe in it, but because the evidence has led me to that conclusion. That evidence is presented in the article.

I never mentioned page transitions (I don't think), so I don't quite understand that point.

I agree that we have to consider who the target users are. For most, the answer is (potentially) everyone, including AT users. If I create a site and I know that only I and a few select people will use it, accessibility is less of a priority - but that's rarely the case.
